What is IO?

IO (Binary for On/Off) began as a compact roleplay (RP) system, designed to provide users with a manageable stat system to enhance their Second Life experiences. Over time, it has evolved significantly, incorporating a multitude of additional RP features that have broadened its scope and utility. One of the key additions has been a damage and repair system, which adds a layer of realism and complexity to the roleplay scenarios.

In an effort to further enrich the user experience, we have integrated our product with the Restrained Life Viewer (RLV) of Second Life. This integration has enabled us to introduce a range of effects and interactive functions that heighten the sense of immersion and engagement for the users.

Whether you’re a seasoned roleplayer looking for a more nuanced experience or a newcomer seeking an accessible entry point into the world of Second Life roleplay, our product offers a comprehensive and immersive solution. It’s not just a tool, but a gateway to countless adventures in the virtual realm.

IO'S RESOURCES AND HOW TO MANAGE THEM

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.

Battery is one of the top stats to look out for, also one of the easiest to manage. An android always needs to ensure that they're battery is charged or they will shutdown and not be able to function.

It's always good to stay healthy. Heath however can be lost by having too many circuit malfunctions, too much radiation or other combat related injuries

Lubricant is required for movement. It gets used up walking, running, teleporting and other activities. If lubricant levels reach 0ML, androids will overheat and shut down.

Nanites are important but not a must. Nanites allow admins to program, repair and sync with their anroids. Nanites also heal and can control other RLV functions built into IO.

Circuit malfunctions happen over time. It's important to keep repaired as if your malfunctions reach a certain threshold, the ability to speak get altered, other stats start to get affected and vision may become hindered

Radiation is BAD. If you get radiated, try to get out of the area as quickly as possible. If you reach 60 Rads you can then pass radiation off to other androids. The higher the rads the more negative effects.

IO data is moving!

We're moving IOs data online. With a backup in-world, IOs data will be saved in an external database and encrypted. This speeds up IOs loading process (except for when it has to load sounds from the notecard). It also allows us to created web related data for you or your admin to view. All around we believe that this is a positive change to the system as a whole! IO will backup every 10 seconds to the server and will save your XP gain making it easier to transfer from version to version. Please keep your eyes on the group we will announce when we launch this new version of IO.

The menu is changing

While the buttons will remain the same. Settings will now be locked down to the IO owner. All admin functions will be on the main menu or the maintenance menu. This is more of an organizational change as opposed to use.

Scanning!

Now that the data will all be online, we have a way to scan other androids now and find out some pretty awesome information. Check it out when you can :D

Circuit Malfunctions

Circuit malfunctions can be described as a damage over time. As your day progresses, so does the stress on your systems. Over time you need to repair your systems, or have your admin do it for you.

Radiation

Yes. We're introducing radiation to the mix. Purchasable toxic waste can be purchased. This will increase the rads on androids. If an android is over 60 rads they will begin to give off radiation to other androids and it's a run-away effect from there. If you end up radiating each other, just give yourselves some space and it should go down. Radiation does some bad things!

What's to come with IO?
